There are a few dates that stick out in every student's mind when they think of December. December 8th, the Immaculate Conception: no school. December 25th, Christmas, no school. December 31st, New Years Eve, no school. However, there are so many other dates people are forgetting! Hello, what about National Fritters Day, or Walt Disney's birthday! How can we forget! Thank goodness Oriental Trading has a free download of their calendar with all these so important dates. Another great place to find these dates is at http://www.nationaldaycalendar.com. Here are all the handpicked oh so important dates to celebrate:
We have all been there: Falling down the stairs, falling up the stairs, walking into doors, or attempting to open our computer, which then falls on the floor. (Okay, so maybe the last one is just me.) We all have these types of moments. Two accounts of my clumsiness both involve stairs!
On my way to English, I fell up the stairs. Witness Jenna '19, who saw both falls, claims that I am "very clumsy.¨
The second account is a little more interesting. One day, I was walking through the small tunnel with the few steps that connect Ita Ford and St. Martha's. Right before I started my ¨travels¨ down those stairs, I saw Jenna '19. I greeted her, and she said hi back. She didn't know what was to come! Jenna '19 claims, ¨I heard a big thump. I turned around, and as I thought, it was Helen.¨ Yes, as I put my foot on the last step, I fell and landed on the black carpet. What a surprise to everyone in the hall! Everyone asked, ¨Are you okay?¨ with extremely shocked expressions on their faces.
It's not everyday you see someone fall down the stairs seven feet forward. Yes, the very next morning, I measured how far I fell. It was approximately seven feet. Good luck beating that!
