The Culture Club's first meeting on September 21, 2017 was a huge success. Fontbonne’s most popular club had over 200 girls from the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes that attended meeting.
The club’s moderator, Ms Pagan, and the president, Shannon Greene, were excited to plan the activities the club will offer this year.
“We already started planning events to places like a Haunted Hayride and a trip to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Broadway,” stated Greene ‘18. “We are also bringing back our Lip Sync Battle which is very entertaining and really encourages faculty and students, outside of the club involvement.”
The Culture Club is a great way for students to interact with different cultures and each other.
Ms. Pagan stated, “What I love most about being the moderator is seeing the students' faces during an event. Their energy and excitement brings me joy and make me want to do even bigger and better things for them. This club allows them to not only have fun with their peers and meet new friends but to do things they normally wouldn't do.”
Many students in the club enjoy the activities and its sense of community.
“I love how diverse the club is,” stated Brianna Amato ‘18. “There are so many people of all ages that attend it and it’s a great way to make new friends. I also love all of the fun activities that the club offers.”
The Culture Club allows students to experience different cultural expressions in school and around New York City.
Last year, the club attended Aladdin on Broadway, had a cultural cooking class at Fontbonne, and walked through New York Cities scariest haunted house Blood Manor.
