By Joanne Centeno '21 It’s a rainy, February day. In New York, February is supposed to be cold, not rainy. However, now as February nears its end, the weather channel says that we've had record breaking rainfall this month. A whopping total of 4.2 inches of rain fell!
If this was snow, it would be no big deal. We expect snow. What we don’t expect are the crazy warm temperatures. The weather report has said that February 2018 is in the Top 10 of the warmest February’s since weather has been recorded. The one snowman that my little brother made has melted before we got tired of looking at it. Don’t get me wrong, I love warm weather. What I dislike is that one day, it’s rainy, and the next day, it’s 70 degrees when it should be 20 degrees. Yesterday, I noticed crocus sprouting up in our front garden. I’m just frustrated with this crazy weather. Is it winter? Is it spring? Or is it just another rainy day? One thing's for sure- the first day of spring, March 20th, is just around the puddle corners.
