By Marissa DeVito '18 Fontbonne Hall Academy is putting on another musical, Saturday Night Fever. The musical needs stage crew members. There is no limit to how many people could be stage crew members, however, the musical needs at least six members who are hardworking and dedicated.
There are many types of stage crew jobs offered to Fontbonne students. Jobs ranging from curtains, lights, sound, props etc. Secretary of the Fontbonne Drama Club, Kristina Zloklikovitz, is in charge of stage crew. “There are many jobs available when one embarks on the path to becoming a stage crew member. Generally speaking, there is always a need for people to run the : prop table, light board, sound board, projections, set movements, and the microphones. Apart to the ones previously listed, There are many other jobs that need to be filled depending on the wants of the director,” said Zloklikovitz There is not grade limit determining if one could be a stage crew member or not. However, it would be nice to have members dispersed throughout all of the years. It is a very rewarding position. “Having been/ worked along sage crew in the past, what one receives from the experience is leadership skills, listening skills, and an overall good time. Not to mention making a production possible,“ Zloklikovitz replied. Interested stage crew members should email either Zloklikovitz or Ms. Bittleman.

By Rachel Deodato During Fontbonne Hall Academy's February break, Triumph Boards and new white boards were installed throughout Fontbonne’s classrooms. On Feb. 27, 2017 as the students and teachers at Fontbonne return to school, they developed different opinions about the Triumph boards, some negative and some positive.
Some students and teachers believe that the Triumph Boards are to hard to work or to complicated. These students are adjusted to the way that the SMARTboard worked and now have to adjust to something completely different. “I really liked the SMARTboards and I guess I am just used to how they worked. I know that the Triumph boards will grow on me eventually and I’ll become a professional at using them like I was with the SMARTboards. It just takes time.” said Natalie Negron. Some students love the new Triumph boards. The students who love these new boards are emphasizing how they believe that the these boards are faster, brighter, and more technologically advanced. Many believe that these boards offer an opportunity for education to be fun. “The Triumph boards are really cool and in my opinion definitely better then the SMARTboards. The Triumph boards offer a better picture, variety of writing colors, faster internet, and so on. I think everyone will love them as much as I do once they start to get the hang of it” said Gabriella Carone. Fontbonne is continuing to become more technologically advance every step at a time. The faculty and students are excited to see what the future holds and are happy about the opportunity to make learning more fun. By Olivia Cusumano On Mar. 1, 2017 it was Ash Wednesday. Catholics all over the world received ashes and decided what they wanted to give up. Many Catholics are very serious about Ash Wednesday and its importance.
The ashes Catholics receive on Ash Wednesday symbolize the fact that we are all sinners. They also symbolize the dust that God originally made us from. In the Old Testament it is said that the ashes show penance. When the priest places the ashes on a Catholic’s head he says, “Repent and believe in the Gospel.” These words help remind Catholics what their faith is all about. It shows them to never lose sight of what is important in their religion. Ash Wednesday marks the 46 days until the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this time Catholics are to fast and try to be better people. “During the Lenten season I try and be more kind than normal because it is the Church’s holiest preparation time for the resurrection of our Savior” said Angela Mancuso. The season of Lent which is kicked off by Ash Wednesday has many holy days in it. There is Ash Wednesday itself, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and then Easter Sunday which marks the end of it. |
